Abstract:
This paper shows a proposal for a raster image display subsystem architecture with decoupling between frame-buffer and displaying resolutions. This subsystem is composed by frame-buffer, video controller, reconstructor circuit and digital-analog converter..The used decoupling resolution technique was implemented in software formerly. In this work we develop a display subsystem that implements this decoupling resolution technique in hardware. We model and simulate this architecture using VHDL hardware description language. Based in early results of this validation, we conclude that the proposed architecture implements the decoupling resolution correctly. We make sugestions to physical implementation of the proposed display subsystem architecture. Improvements should de done, but early results are very expressive.
