The figure shows horizontal longitudinal stress results of a finite element analysis of a curved cylindrical tube with a square hole. The 3D FE model contains 1280 brick elements and 1700 nodes. Full model iso-strip and iso-volume contourings are shown on the left side. On the right side the same contourings are shown with cutting planes. The algorithm used to generate these images allows iso-line, iso-strip, iso-surface, and iso-volume visualization of unstructured 3D meshes with generic cells.
