Expanded Virtual Puppeteering is a framework for digital puppeteering performances, using solely the performer’s bare hands. The framework uses Unity as a base, and hand information is captured using a Leap Motion device. The performer uses a gesture interaction system and precise hand movements to manipulate the puppet in a number of different manners. It is then possible for the audience to view the puppet directly in a big screen, or using virtual or augmented reality headsets, which allows rich interactions.
